When we are overwhelmed, we often feel alone. Bridging that feeling of isolation is central to how I help you unravel the worries and problems that you feel are holding you back. I work collaboratively with you, focusing on your strengths and what is working in your life to realign the circumstances and relationships that are not. No problem or concern is too big or too small, and where you are today does not have to be a predictor of tomorrow. My approach is positive and warm, fostering trust and healing.
Before going back to school to become a therapist, I spent many years as an attorney in both the public and private sector, where I learned to navigate high intensity, stressful environments and developed complex problem-solving skills. As a result, I am particularly in tune with issues surrounding workplace stress and work-life balance.
My areas of focus are relationships, grief and loss, parenting, life transitions, anxiety, workplace stress, and depression. I draw from an eclectic range of treatment modalities including CBT and a relational person-centered approach. I also call on my training in meditation and mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR).
