Emily Pinkus, LMSW

Life stressors and change can be difficult to manage, especially without adequate support. We can work together to help you reach your goals and true potential in life. My therapy style is supportive, client-centered, and completely judgment free. By working together, we can improve your coping mechanisms, increase awareness and understanding around your thought process and behaviors, and strengthen your relationships with others in your life.

My specialties include LGBTQ specific issues, self-awareness and self-discovery, depression, anxiety, and self-empowerment. By using a client-centered approach, every client will receive his or her own individualized treatment, focusing on the specific goals of the client. I utilize various therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, and motivational interviewing to get to the core of the client’s issue and have a better understanding of how thoughts and feelings influence his/her/their behavior.

My background includes an MSW from NYU and a BA in Psychology at The New School University. Additionally, I have experience and a passion for working with the LGBTQ community. I have enormous respect for all of my clients and take great pride in helping them achieve their goals. Please contact Park Avenue to schedule a session with me. I look forward to meeting with you.
