Michael Corning, LMSW

Being confronted with obstacles and adjustments in life is challenging, but you do not have to face them alone. Utilizing psychotherapy can help harness your resiliency and produce successful outcomes. I am committed to creating and maintaining a safe and nonjudgmental space for people to explore their life experiences, identity, and strengths. I believe in a collaborative and holistic therapeutic approach to produce positive change, progress, and mental wellness.

I have extensive experience in working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and have a passion for assisting the community, as well as people from all walks of life. I also specialize in issues pertaining to depression, anxiety, Bipolar Disorder (Type I and Type II), daily life stressors, relationship issues, sex therapy, grief and bereavement, surviving trauma, and living with physical illness.

My clinical modalities are informed by: Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Attachment Theory, Object Relations, Psychoeducation, and Motivational Interviewing. We will work together to discover and explore ways to overcome life’s obstacles and achieve goals. I look forward to working with you.
