Tim Sponsler, LMSW
People look for different things in therapy. If you want help figuring out what is holding you back and how to overcome it, we may be a good fit. Sometimes it’s as simple as a single breakthrough or a change in habits, other times it may require a more extensive look at your worldview, your patterns, or your past. Either way, if you are ready to be a little bit vulnerable, I’m ready to offer understanding, support and insight – in a space free of judgement.
My specialties include relationship issues, social and career stresses, LGBTQ issues, self-discovery, self-esteem, anxiety and depression. I use client-centered, cognitive behavioral techniques informed by a psychodynamic perspective. In other words, I will help you address the problems you identify by examining your perceptions, interactions and sometimes your history.
My background includes an MSW from Columbia and an MBA from ESADE, with psychodynamic study at the White Institute. I use an eclectic style, combining therapy, positive psychology, and coaching. My goal and greatest reward is seeing clients move past their issues to reach their potential. I look forward to meeting you and starting this journey together.
