To be the best version of yourself, you have to take a chance and step out of your comfort zone. You have completed the first step so congratulations for starting your journey to becoming the best version of YOU. Therapy is a wonderful journey when you want to learn and grow through what you believe is holding you back. Everyone’s life experiences are unique and helps shape you into the person that you are. As your therapist I will be here to help you navigate through this journey by creating a safe space for you to be unapologetically your authentic self and inspire change through self-awareness and self-exploration.
I utilize a combination of different treatment modalities based on each client’s needs. The foundation of my work is strength based because I want to be able to collaborate with clients to build them up with strengths they already have. Some approaches that I use are trauma-informed, solution- focused, motivational interviewing, wellness techniques, incorporating the arts within therapy and psychotherapy. I have experience with working with adolescents, adults, families and groups. Becoming a therapist was always very important to me. Growing up as a young black adolescent experiencing different obstacles, and feeling misunderstood, I wanted to help create a space to understand and help adolescents and BIPOC be heard. Mental Health isn’t something that is normalized in the Black community and I wanted to be a part of changing that stigma to foster more diversity and inclusion within this field.
When I am not working, I am either catching a flight somewhere because I love to travel or indulging in major self care because treating myself in any way is very important to me. Here’s two fun facts about me: I love Beyonce and I am also a Dancer/Dance teacher. I specialize in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary and HipHop.
