The idea of meeting a new therapist can be totally scary – I get that. I’m proud of you for taking this first step and trusting me to guide you through this process. Life can be hard sometimes, and my goal is to be there for you as you navigate the bad experiences and the exciting experiences, too. As your therapist, I aim to provide you with the tools you need to grow as an individual and reach your full potential, despite any of the challenges life may throw at you. My approach is simple: find your strengths, determine your goals, and work with you to help you accomplish them.
My experience has focused on supporting adolescents and adults who are dealing with difficulties related to trauma, anxiety, depression, and life changes. I have been privileged to service such populations as young men of color, LGBTQIA+ youth and young adults, and individuals with intellectual disabilities. I have also been able to work closely with folks who need support with executive functioning, family or school stress, and LGBTQIA+ issues. Utilizing therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, I am able to connect with my clients in an individualized and productive way, focusing on their specific needs and goals.
At the end of the day, past all of the therapeutic talk and big words, I’m just a person who wants to listen. I’m a raging Virgo who has to eat Gluten Free, and I love finding new spots to grab coffee and a little treat. I have been a Child Study Team School Social Worker for the last few years, and in my free time I enjoy reading cheesy romance novels, watching true crime documentaries, and going to concerts.
